It all started with movement. Launched in 2014 by two passionate co-founders with a shared love of movement, Nimble is a digitally led, direct-to-consumer women's lifestyle apparel brand.
We're passionate about movement and creating functional lifestyle pieces designed for life in all settings - whether you're running, running errands, or running late! Think: life-ready, problem-solving staples - tailored meets timeless and actually comfortable.
We are a fast-moving, rapidly growing brand with ambitious growth plans. You'll be joining a team with a strong collaborative spirit and a test & learn mindset, where you'll be encouraged to bring ideas, own results, and be proactive.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing product team at Nimble, reporting into the Design Manager.
As our Product Developer, you'll be the technical lead of our product creation and commercialisation of products, with a strong eye for fit, construction, and technical accuracy, who can consistently maintain quality standards across all product categories, new and existing.
This is a hands-on role that suits someone who is an experienced product developer, is detail-oriented, open-minded, and comfortable
Responsibilities
As our Product Developer, you will:
- Manage Critical Path and key timings and sample trackers, proactively prioritising deadlines, keeping work on track, and communicating progress, risks, and changes clearly to relevant team members.
- Own the technical development of all new styles and carry-forward styles, creating and maintaining the Techpacks for our offshore vendors. Including detailed records of style comments, development decisions, all while ensuring they meet Nimble's fit, quality, and design standards from concept through to bulk production
- Lead and manage fit sessions, scheduling, running and making confident technical decisions on fit and construction to execute the design direction
- Own and communicate style changes clearly to vendors and internal teams, and own post-fit follow-up
- Manage seasonal BOMs with accuracy — building, cross-checking, and updating throughout the season
- Create and maintain style specifications, including initial and graded specifications
- Initiate and lead garment testing (wear testing) and translate results into actionable product improvements or validations.
- Manage seasonal trim and fabric developments in partnership with design, including sourcing and execution where applicable
- Manage QA from a head office perspective — tracking, following up with faults and quality issues, and acting as the point of contact for offshore QA concerns
- Review customer feedback and returns data, identifying patterns and feeding insights into future development and product improvements
- Support Retail and Customer Care with technical or fit-related product questions as required
Requirements
- 6+ years' experience in product development or a similar technical role, ideally within activewear or women's apparel, including fully fashioned knitwear
- Passionate about creating beautiful, functional products that stand the test of time
- Deep understanding of garment construction, pattern making, and fit, with proven ability to lead fit sessions independently and make confident technical decisions
- Experience managing end-to-end sample development with offshore manufacturers
- Highly organised and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple styles, timelines, and priorities simultaneously
- Strong tracking and organisational capability, with a high level of attention to detail; able to manage multiple styles and work across several seasons simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and momentum.
- Exceptional attention to specs, BOMs, and technical documentation, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all product development stages
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Office (especially Excel); experience with PLM systems is a plus
- Excellent communication skills, able to clearly articulate technical feedback to vendors, designers, and cross-functional teams
- Proactive, hands-on problem-solver who thrives in an ownership-driven role while being a collaborative team player, supporting others and contributing to the wider success of the product team
- Ability to work independently and take full responsibility for your projects and workflow
What you'll love about working at Nimble:
- Work with a passionate, tight-knit team with a collaborative approach.
- Be part of a fast-growing Australian brand, where there is no limit to the impact that you can have
- Test & learn culture where you are encouraged to try new things & take creative risks.
